Manufacturing Process Engineer for Grinding

The manufacturing process engineer serves as the primary technical resource for the plant in developing, planning, supervising, performing and coordinating a broad range of process engineering activities. This includes training, quality assurance, and other related technical functions which will lend significant contribution to the organization and the achievement of its goals and objectives.

Qualifications:




  • Utilize CAD Modeling software for drawings, UG/NX knowledge is a plus.
  • Mechanically inclined with a background in machine building is a plus.
  • Ability to work well with a team.
  • Proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Office Suite is required
  • Strong organizational and communication skills (both written and verbal) are required
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing concepts is preferred
  • Design, develop, and implement technical solutions relating to the area of precision grinding
  • Research, design, and develop grinding process technology and related tooling
  • Oversee the formulation of process instructions and procedures
  • Act in a self-directed manner to implement improvements in the manufacturing processes
  • Perform root cause analysis, produce reports, and implement changes to reduce waste and cycle time



Tasks:




  • Assist plant operations, corporate development engineering, and operations managers in application, development and scale-up of new processes.
  • Provide failure analysis of process or equipment issues.
  • Ability to implement and troubleshoot grinding process equipment
  • Provide consultation and technical expertise to operations staff with on-going quality issues.
  • Provide good record keeping and communications skills.
  • Ensure customer excellence and delivery of quality products



Minimum Requirements:




  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field is required
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Shows ability and confidence in communicating ideas and results using education and experience.
  • Familiarity with Quality System concepts.
  • Eligible/authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Limited travel.
