Director, Product Management - Automation & Response

Our Product Management team is at the forefront of innovation, shaping the future of Cisco's offerings. As a Director, you will lead and inspire a team of talented product managers and senior individual contributors, driving the strategic direction and execution of key product initiatives. You'll be a pivotal part of our leadership, contributing directly to the overall product and functional business strategy that impacts a major area of Cisco.

Your Impact

Join us on our mission to make SOC automation intelligent, scalable, and accessible!

We're looking for a visionary Director of Product Management - Automation and Response to lead the next chapter of innovation in security operations at Splunk. You'll orchestrate product strategy, roadmap execution, and adoption success for Splunk's automation and response capabilities across the unified Threat Detection, Investigation, and Response (TDIR) platform. Lead and grow a team of high-performing PMs, deliver ground-breaking automation experiences, and help security teams everywhere respond faster and smarter!

Strategic Ownership

  • Define and drive the product vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap for automation and response within Splunk's unified TDIR platform.
  • Lead the value of automation in modern SOC workflows-from detection triage to collaborative response-anchored in customer needs, market trends, and AI-first execution.
  • Lead integration strategy across Splunk SOAR and adjacent response surfaces in Enterprise Security, Mission Control, and emerging surfaces.

Team Leadership & Execution

  • Build, lead, and inspire a world-class team of Product Managers, fostering a culture of vitality, creativity, and customer focus.
  • Enable rapid product delivery in close collaboration with engineering, UX, field, and partner teams.
  • Set clear priorities and success metrics while mentoring PMs on decision-making, partner alignment, and customer storytelling.

Platform Differentiation & Value Creation

  • Own and evolve Splunk's Response Framework and associated automation authoring capabilities-ensuring low-friction, high-impact user experiences for SOC users.
  • Lower the barrier to automation for users across maturity levels by investing in prompt-driven authoring, workflow templates, and pre-built content ecosystems.
  • Deliver uniquely differentiated value across the incident response lifecycle-from investigation triggers to cross-domain actions.
  • Product GTM and Adoption Success
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and Support to drive adoption and usage growth across automation and response capabilities.
  • Represent Splunk at industry events, analyst briefings, and with key customers-translating platform vision into outcomes-based narratives.
  • Lead product launch strategies and define core critical metrics tied to usage, adoption, customer retention, and expansion.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 10+ years of Product Management experience, 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity AND 5+ years of demonstrated experience in product management required, with 3+ years leading PM teams; ideally in SOC, automation platforms, or enterprise SaaS.
  • Deep understanding of the Security Operations Center (SOC), including detection, investigation, and response workflows.
  • Demonstrated success owning platform-wide initiatives spanning multiple product surfaces and cross-functional partners.
  • Experience with automation platforms, playbooks, low-code tooling, or security integrations (e.g., SOAR, XDR, ITDR).
  • Proven track record driving product adoption, navigate sophisticated enterprise environments, and build for scale and usability.
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills: can articulate value to C-level partners, field teams, and technical practitioners alike.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience with Splunk, SOAR platforms, or incident response tooling.
  • Familiarity with open frameworks like MITRE ATT&CK, OCSF, or MISP/STIX/TAXII.
  • Demonstrated success in a platform unification or multi-surface orchestration context.
  • MBA or equivalent experience in strategic planning, market development, or org design.
