Travel Registered Nurse - National

Summary

The Registered Nurse - National Traveler at Mary Free Bed are integral members of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering patient-centered rehabilitation care. Assignments may be located in any MFB IP location nationally. RNs coordinate, direct, delegate, and provide care to multiple patients, fostering relationships with patients, families, and colleagues to enhance care quality. Compassionate, courteous care is delivered in accordance with departmental policies and service standards. Education is a cornerstone of rehabilitation nursing, empowering patients and families to achieve independence and adapt successfully for discharge to home.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Clinical Practice

  • Provides patient care, treatment, and services within scope of licensure and in compliance with legal and regulatory standards.

Quality Pillar of Excellence

  • Assesses patients and develop individualized, patient-centered care plans in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.

  • Delegates and oversees care provided by non-licensed staff to ensure adherence to departmental policies.

  • Participates in performance improvement initiatives by identifying care enhancements and reporting incidents or near misses.

  • Supports quality improvement through data collection and documentation audits.

  • Promotes patient safety by following protocols and reporting safety concerns or improvement opportunities to leadership.

  • Delivers exceptional customer service to patients, families, physicians, and colleagues.

  • Maintains confidentiality and perform service recovery when needed.

  • Recognizes and integrate cultural and religious needs into care planning.

  • Builds and maintains effective working relationships with physicians and interdisciplinary team members.

  • Demonstrates clinical competency and meet regulatory/accreditation standards within required timeframes.

Customer Service Responsibilities

Demonstrate excellent customer service and standards of behaviors as well as encourages, coaches, and monitors the same in team members. This individual should consistently promote teamwork and direct communication with co-workers and deal discretely and sensitively with confidential information.

Responsibilities in Quality Improvement

Contribute by identifying problems and seeking solutions. Promote patient/family satisfaction where possible; participates in departmental efforts to monitor and report customer service.

Essential Job Qualifications

Licensure:

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in home state.

  • Willingness and ability to obtain additional state licenses based on assignment needs.

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.

Education:

  • Associate degree in Nursing required.

Travel Requirements:

  • Ability to travel nationwide for assignments.

  • Assignments typically range from 6 to 12 weeks.

  • Travel, lodging, and per diem compensation provided.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in a clinical setting.

Skills:

  • Strong critical thinking, decision-making, delegation, and leadership skills.

  • Effective time management and organizational abilities.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure, manage interruptions, and prioritize tasks effectively.

Preferred Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing

  • Certification as Registered Rehabilitation Nurse

  • 2 years of previous RN experience in rehabilitation or acute care setting
