What to Expect

Tesla is looking for an individual experienced with quality programs and technical quality processes to contribute to the team managing the quality program at the Cell Manufacturing facility. As a Quality Technician, you will be responsible for performing the daily operation of and providing support to users of the quality program. In this role, you will work within the Quality Operations organization.


What You'll Do
  • Operate in the inspect, diagnose and repair mindset
  • Work closely with manufacturing, process, and quality teams to establish processes and procedures that will ensure consistently high quality
  • Comprehend current production quality trends based on dashboards or from occurrences in the line
  • Execute timely corrective action for quality mitigation and containment. Collaborate with engineering teams to support investigation, containment and execution for strategic quality issues
  • Monitor quality, determine the root cause of problems and implement corrective actions and countermeasures. Participate in continuous improvement activities
  • Analyze and disposition component and product defects as a member of the Material Review Board

What You'll Bring
  • Abilityto wear PPE, which may include a full-face respirator, and coveralls as needed due to working with hazardous chemicals
  • Experienced in QS-9000, ISO/TS 16949, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, DFMEA, PFMEA preferred
  • Experience with extensive problem-solving and root cause analysis
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and wiring diagrams
  • Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal
Essential Physical Demands:
  • Stand for long periods, lift up to 50lbs., and work in a fast-paced, noisy environment
  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and work in varying temperatures and environments
  • Ability to climb, bend, stoop, and kneel as needed
  • Ability to wear PAPR and work extended hours inside the lab

    Expected Compensation
    $28.75 - $54.44/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
