Job Description Summary

Enterprise Community Partners is seeking a Senior Program Associate to join our Housing Access & Opportunity Team. In this role, you will play a key part in implementing programs that facilitate the creation and preservation of quality, healthy affordable housing; building the organizational capacity of mission-based partners; and advancing initiatives that support the most vulnerable New Yorkers.

You will collaborate closely with colleagues across our New York operations to strengthen the affordable housing sector statewide. We are looking for a creative problem-solver with familiarity in affordable housing, community development, and economic mobility; fine-tuned organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously; strong communication and writing abilities; attention to detail; and a deep commitment to Enterprise's mission and values.

This is a hybrid position and will report to a Program Manager on the Housing Access & Opportunity Team.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Support program design, implementation and/or project management for initiatives within the Housing Access & Opportunity team, inclusive of work related to eviction prevention, homelessness, housing access and connections to economic opportunities.

  • Support the statewide Housing Choice Voucher Mobility program, project management including scheduling initiative efforts like site visits, trainings, and community of practice gatherings, data organization, program and policy development, conducting in-depth research and analyzing program trends, stakeholder engagement and collaboration, development and implementation of program best practices, and outcomes tracking and reporting to inform improvement and strategic decision-making.

  • Collaborate and manage relationships with a diverse group of colleagues, public agency staff, and community-based organizations, fostering strong, inclusive and responsive partnerships.

  • Develop comprehensive and accessible written materials - including white papers, program guides, case studies, templates, and presentations - that clearly articulate program frameworks, best practices, and lessons learned. Tailor content for a variety of internal and external audiences.

  • Support program development, including competitive requests for proposals, reviewing due diligence for pass-through grants and contracts, managing grantee and consultant relationships, tracking and reporting progress, including alignment with anticipated budget, and maintaining organized program outcome and budget trackers to inform program management.

  • Play an active role in developing new initiatives and/or taking on special projects as needed, participating in the response to emerging priorities and/or gaps in the affordable housing access and upward mobility sector.

  • Support fundraising efforts including grant proposals and funder reports as needed

  • Represent Enterprise externally, in stakeholder meetings and formal presentations.

  • Support recommendations provided to local and state government on policies that increase and improve affordable housing preservation and development.

  • Participate in internal Enterprise working groups focused on improving our work and culture, including improving our approach to equity.

  • Support other tasks as delegated

  • Some travel required

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree and 2-4 years of relevant experience.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and adapt successfully to new situations and environments.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment often under stringent deadlines.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience working collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.

  • Excellent critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with excellent editing, proofreading, and attention to detail to ensure accurate, high-quality work.

  • Familiarity with the affordable housing, community development, or planning sectors. Knowledge of housing voucher programs and public housing preservation is highly valued.

  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency using Microsoft Office tools.

  • Strong commitment to Enterprise's mission and values.

The base salary for this role is $68,000 to $80,000, depending on level of skills and experience.

The salary range for this position is represented by the low and high end of the range for the amount to be paid for the position. Salaries paid at Enterprise will vary based on factors that may include skills, education, location, experience, and performance. The salary range is just a part of the total rewards package provided to employees at Enterprise, and other rewards may include annual performance bonuses and generous paid leave programs.
