Role Overview
We are seeking a mission-aligned and detail-oriented Investment Associate to join the iAlumbra Capital team. This is a hands-on role supporting the full investment lifecycle, from pipeline development and due diligence through execution, portfolio monitoring, and ongoing portfolio analytics, across a dynamic portfolio of fund commitments, direct investments, and project development opportunities. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, research capabilities, clear writing ability, and a passion for leveraging capital to drive systemic change across the Americas.
About the Position
Location: US or Mexico preferred; Costa Rica or Panama also considered Languages: Fluent in English and Spanish Experience: 4+ years in investment banking, family office, private equity, asset management, or similar fields
Compensation and Benefits Information*
Compensation Range: $160,000 - $190,000 base and this role is eligible for an annual bonus Benefits Information: We offer a comprehensive and generous benefits package which includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) retirement plan and paid time off.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities: Investment Committee & Memo Support
Draft and refine Investment Committee (IC) memos and supporting materials for new investments and portfolio updates
- Synthesize research, diligence findings, and internal feedback into clear, well-structured narratives
- Coordinate cross-functional inputs (legal, tax, accounting, field teams) to ensure timely and high-quality materials
Pipeline Management & Activation
- Maintain and update active pipeline opportunities in internal systems (e.g., Salesforce)
- Support meeting coordination, internal communication, and follow-up on action items
- Help ensure visibility and momentum on priority opportunities
Research & Due Diligence
- Conduct macroeconomic, sectoral, and company-specific research
- Prepare benchmarks, comparables, and strategic insight packs to inform investment theses
- Support due diligence across direct investments, fund evaluations, and project structures
Financial Analysis & Modeling
- Build and maintain financial models (DCF, comparables, sensitivity/scenario analysis)
- Track performance metrics such as IRR, MOIC, and NAV
- Contribute to portfolio dashboards and capital tracking tools
- Collaborate with tax and accounting functions to support investment level analysis
Portfolio Monitoring & Reporting
- Monitor financial, operational, and impact KPIs across active investments
- Assist with quarterly reporting, portfolio valuations, and performance updates
- Support portfolio-level analysis, including data mining, trend identification, and cross-cutting insights that inform strategy, risk management, and Impact Measurement and Management (IMM)
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of portfolio-wide dashboards and data systems that enable IMM, thematic mapping, and strategic decision-making across the portfolio
- Collaborate with investment leads on tracking progress against value creation plans
Process & Knowledge Management
- Maintain organized records of IC materials, diligence files, contracts, and communications
- Contribute to improvements in internal templates, workflows, and knowledge-sharing tools
- Help manage data systems and databases (e.g., Salesforce) to ensure accurate portfolio information, reporting readiness, and alignment with IMM and thematic mapping frameworks
- Support implementation of standardized data collection and portfolio monitoring processes
Cross-Functional & Strategic Projects
- Participate in ecosystem mapping, pipeline development, and roadshow coordination
- Support investment leads in structuring high-impact opportunities
- Engage with field teams and philanthropic counterparts to ensure mission alignment and impact tracking
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; background in finance, economics, engineering, public policy, or related fields preferred
- Strong writing and communication skills, including memo development and research synthesis
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong Excel skills; financial modeling experience preferred
- Familiarity with Salesforce, PowerPoint, and other data or research platforms (with the ability to learn new systems quickly)
- Deep alignment with iAlumbra's mission and an interest in regenerative systems and catalytic investing
