Job Overview

The Director, Brand Partnerships, Holiday Campaigns and Cause Marketing will serve as a vital link in crafting and connecting our brand storytelling across Buying, Creative, Marketing, and Visual teams. They will partner cross functionally to ensure that all partnerships showcased in our marketing materials, editorial campaigns and visual displays align with our fashion principles and key business objectives. They will also serve as the company connection to Macy's Inc on all of our corporate giving programs.

Essential Functions

Brand Partnerships



  • Identify and pitch third party partners to integrate into and sponsor Bloomingdale's campaigns and major initiatives
  • Oversee planning, management, execution and communication of all third party partnerships and work cross-functionally to integrate these partnerships into larger business initiatives
  • Facilitate ongoing communication and coordination with external and internal partners to fulfill partnership goals
  • Partner with creative team to brief all partnership details
  • Identify new and unexplored opportunities for brand alignment


Philanthropy:



  • Lead the strategy, development and execution of Bloomingdale's social purpose strategy, b the change
  • Identify, maintain and develop charitable partnerships and relationships across customer facing cause marketing campaigns, corporate grant giving and employee giving/volunteerism
  • Oversee planning, management, execution and communication of all cause marketing campaigns and work cross-functionally to integrate these partnerships into larger business initiatives
  • Collaborate cross functionally with marketing, merchandising and store teams to execute and grow national cause marketing campaigns
  • Manage and coordinate the production of Bloomingdale's philanthropic products with creative from concept and purchasing through execution and delivery to stores
  • Oversee annual colleague giving campaigns and work closely with Macy's partners, executive sponsor and corporate giving specialist to plan, execute and communicate these campaigns
  • Partner with CRGs and corporate giving specialist engage colleagues throughout the year by leveraging charitable relationships for volunteer and employee engagement opportunities
  • Manage corporate grant process from strategy and budget to execution. Review all corporate grant requests at the national and regional level
  • Work cross-functionally to ensure that all areas of the omni-channel marketing team and outside support teams have all pertinent information regarding campaign partners (across sponsorships and philanthropic partners) and cohesive message/branding is carried over to each element of the project
  • Traffic all creative elements and negotiations with external partners
  • Create briefs for all projects, ensuring that strategy is in support of overall brand objectives
  • Negotiate, draft and manage legal agreements including co-commercial venture, donation at check-out and sponsorship contracts in partnership with Macy's Inc. legal team and ensure that all deliverables are implemented


Qualifications and Competencies



  • Bachelor's Degree from a 4-year college or university
  • 5+ years related experience
  • Practices open and continuous communication, values keeping others informed, effectively presenting information in a clear, concise manner
  • Excellent leadership, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across functional lines and at many levels
  • Ability to think creatively, strategically and technically
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and Company needs


Essential Physical Requirements



  • Requires prolonged periods of sitting, with occasional standing
  • Occasionally requires walking, bending, reaching, hearing and talking
  • Continuous use of computers and other office equipment
  • Frequently lift/move up to 25lbs.
