Job Description

The VP will be a key member in Visa's Enterprise Transformation Office (ETO), which is responsible for driving meaningful and sustainable change across the many segments of Visa's business. As a strategist, the individual will lead the execution of - across functions and geographies - initiatives aligned to executive priorities. Broad topics may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Leading strategy development workstreams that drive step-change improvement in accountability
  • Addressing enterprise-wide organizational improvements to unlock revenue or capacity
  • Identifying areas of opportunity to improve the client experience and accelerate time-to-market

What a VP of Transformation does at Visa

The VP of Transformation is a key member of ETO leadership team and plays a critical role in leading and overseeing initiatives that drive large-scale change, improve organizational efficiency, and improve the client experience. These are often complex, cross-functional engagements that impact multiple geographies and stakeholders.

The role is highly visible and will have a broad reach into a variety of teams across functions. This leader must have the ability to lead key business transformation programs and key cross-functional initiatives. He or she must stay in front of innovation trends in strategy and transformation and payments and be able to develop an independent point of view on topics in the face of uncertainty and imperfect information.

Best-suited candidates will be persuasive, clear communicators with high emotional intelligence as well as analytical, self-motivated, and able to collaborate well with others from a diversity of backgrounds. This position requires the ability to communicate, partner with and generate support for recommendation among stakeholders to quickly drive to those recommendations and lead a team. Further, this position requires the ability to apply strong analytical frameworks and critical thinking skills to:

  • Partner with ETO leadership to help identify, shape, and prioritize key transformation initiatives and change management that support Visa revenue ambitions
  • Develop and execute Enterprise transformation strategy that supports our growth activities, organizational efficiency, and cross-functional improvements
  • Grow and lead a high-performing team, providing mentorship, guidance, and support to ensure the team's success.
  • Structure and solve business problems, collaborating and coordinating with a range of internal stakeholders to make recommendations on a wide range of cross-functional improvements
  • Build strong relationships with cross-functional teams. Act as trusted partner and advisor to senior stakeholders during and beyond strategic project engagement
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute business cases, project plans, and implementation roadmaps for key initiatives
  • Lead the development of hypotheses and data collection for wholesale organizational improvement, operational efficiency, cost savings (or avoidance), and most importantly, revenue growth
  • Manage the day-to-day project and team activities to meet project goals and timelines
  • Ensure that all initiatives are aligned with the Visa's overall strategy, goals, and values
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of transformational initiatives, develop clear and concise executive level communications
  • Present recommendations to senior management, other executive, functional, or regional staff and management in a clear, concise, and persuasively

The position will be based in Austin, TX or Miami, FL with some occasional light travel to be expected.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

* At least 12 years of work experience with a Bachelor's degree or at least 10 years of experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 8 years of work experience with a PhD, with high academic achievement (preferably in fields of business, finance, economics, engineering, statistics, or another related field)

* Strong sense of commitment and accountability, possess a business-focus mindset, self-motivated to deliver work of the highest standard (i.e., strong attention to detail)

* Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, with proven intellectual and analytical rigor, attention to detail and ability to structure and authoring of complex presentations (i.e., deep familiarity with tools like PowerPoint, Word, Excel, etc.)

* Demonstrated ability to work in a time-sensitive team environment with excellent interpersonal and communication skills

* Influence and coach a team focused on enterprise transformation and change management

Preferred Qualifications

* More than 15 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD, PhD) in management consulting, investment banking, or corporate strategy

* Experience in and/or significant exposure to the payments, financial services, or digital/technology industries preferred

* Self-starter, team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible, with excellent presentation and spreadsheet skills, including strong oral and writing capabilities

* Led development of complex, multi-year initiatives with demonstrated business impact

* Ability to independently lead and manage projects with multiple workstreams and stakeholders, with proven leadership success over a wide variety of functional business problems

* Strong leadership skills to influence and build credibility as a peer with leaders within Visa

* Personal presence and ability to clearly communicate compelling messages to senior managers and external business partners

* Proven experience building, leading, and scaling high-performing multi-cultural transformation teams. Ability to identify and attract top talent, assembling, developing, and effectively leading multi-disciplinary teams with complementary strengths

* Demonstrated ability to engage effectively and influence decision-making with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 219,400 to 363,050 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
