What you'll do

The Aviation Service Product Manager will drive strategic service development of the customer offering including the experience, performance, and assurances for the Aviation In-Flight Connectivity business. You will be responsible for understanding and defining competitive market-facing service offerings that correspond with corporate financial and strategic goals. You will serve as the liaison between commercial sales team within the business and the internal capacity team regarding venue and service forecasting.


The day-to-day

  • Understand and analyze internal and competitor customer-focused solutions in the Aviation In-Flight Connectivity market. Study the market and performance factors that drive engagement, usage, and happiness.
  • Partner with business development teams to develop service offerings in alignment with corporate satellite capacity objectives and central initiatives
  • Support refinement business and financial models for services, inclusive of end user experience, usage, sentiment, and performance metrics
  • Define service policies and conduct service plan experiments including A/B testing to optimize market offerings relative to performance, capacity, and financial targets
  • Drive service assurance roadmap, working with Engineering to design, develop and deliver methods to competitively quantify service quality in relation to the offering while meeting corporate financial objectives
  • Define, track, and interpret SLA and SLO performance across multiple dimensions of interest (time, geography, customer, etc.)
  • Work with existing analytical frameworks and engineering tools to perform analyses related to service usage and performance
  • Serve as single point of contact for Aviation sales and account teams regarding sales forecasting initiatives in support of demand forecasting and space segment roadmap
  • Understand, communicate and detail potential service scenarios to ensure accurate space segment planning
  • Translate, publish, and communicate forecasted feasibility and service metrics to the Aviation BU and executive collaborators
  • Support operational teams in performance issue investigation and provide analytical insights for aviation-specific capacity constraints
  • Provide requirements to Internal Forecasting Tool PMs to support Aviation use cases
  • Support executive decision-making through comprehensive analysis and strategic research projects specific to aviation markets

This will be an onsite/hybrid located in Carlsbad, CA, Duluth, GA, or Tempe, AZ,


What you'll need

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Aviation Management, Aerospace, or related field
  • 4+ years of product management experience with demonstrated expertise in telecommunications, satellite communications, or aviation technology sectors
  • 2+ years of experience in aviation industry with understanding of airline operations, fleet management, and connectivity requirements
  • Strong proficiency in business and financial modeling with experience in service performance analysis
  • Experience working with large, complex datasets, including SQL and Python graphing/analysis tooling, to derive actionable insights for strategic decision-making
  • Knowledge of satellite communications technologies, capacity planning principles, and yield optimization methodologies
  • Strong communication abilities with capacity to translate technical capabilities into market-relevant service offerings and engage diverse audiences
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple central initiatives simultaneously
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with sales teams, engineering groups, and executive collaborators

What will help you on the job

  • Master's degree in quantitative field, MBA, or equivalent advanced experience in aviation or telecommunications
  • Experience with satellite network analysis and telecommunications performance metrics in aviation applications
  • Experience with forecasting methodologies, demand planning, and capacity management in service industries
  • Experience with agile product development methodologies and cross-functional team leadership

Salary range

$145,500.00 - $230,000.00 / annually.
For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $181,000.00- $271,000.00/ annually
