Job Summary

The Service Technician Apprentice - Change-Out / Startup supports experienced technicians with the removal, installation, startup, and commissioning of commercial and residential HVAC systems. This role involves assisting with equipment change-outs, system setup, testing, and verification to ensure proper operation prior to turnover. Apprentices will operate hand and power tools, gauges, and measuring devices while gaining hands-on technical experience with HVAC equipment


Essential Duties

  • Collaborate with senior technicians to remove, set, and secure HVAC equipment during system change-outs.

  • Assist with reconnecting ductwork, piping, drains, and electrical components under supervision.

  • Support system startup activities, including testing, inspection, and performance verification.

  • Assist in identifying and addressing basic system issues through observation and guided testing.

  • Proficiently operate hand tools, power tools, gauges, and measuring equipment.

  • Support material staging, equipment delivery coordination, and jobsite organization.

  • Safely drive a motor vehicle and trailer, follow company vehicle driving policies, and adhere to all company safety requirements.

  • Maintain equipment, vehicles, and tools in a clean and safe condition.


Minimum Requirements

  • Entry-level candidates with a strong interest in HVAC systems and mechanical work are encouraged to apply.

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • Vocational training, apprenticeships, or equivalent experience in a related field is preferred. Craft training is preferred.

  • Maintains required registrations, professional licenses, and/or certifications as required by the position.

  • Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, gauges, and measuring equipment.

  • Basic math skills.

  • Must have reliable Transportation
  • Professional demeanor with solid interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

  • Punctual, dependable, and safety-focused.

  • Demonstrates strong business ethics at all times.

  • Maintains a professional appearance.
