Howmet Dover Casting is a world-class supplier of complex, investment-cast turbine airfoils and other components for the aircraft engine and industrial gas turbine industries. Howmet Dover Alloy is a world-class supplier of vacuum and air-melted nickel- and cobalt-based superalloys to aerospace, gas turbine, medical, and other high-technology industrial markets.

The Manufacturing Manager 1st Shift position is critical to driving manufacturing excellence, continuous improvement, and delivering operational results. This role is responsible for ensuring the achievement of key performance indicators such as quality, productivity, cycle time, delivery, and cash flow, while also maintaining customer satisfaction. In addition, this position is accountable for leading and coaching hourly employees and manufacturing support staff, focusing on fostering a culture of operational excellence and lean practices to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.

Anticipated Pay Range: $85K-$120K per year. *Pay rates within this range are determined based on various factors including experience, education, certifications, etc.

JOB SUMMARY
  • Prepare and maintain Melt Campaigns by coordinating production, supply chain and the raw materials resources to satisfy the customer requirements

ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH & SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Expected to assist in the implementation of Arconic Power and Propulsion's value and policy statement and its accompanying principles.
  • Comply with all department, facility, Corporate and Regulatory EH&S regulations.
  • Wear all required personal protective equipment.
  • Report all job related illness and injuries. (Per employee handbook).
  • Report all Safety, Health & Environmental concerns to your supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Attend all EH&S training.
  • Responsible for the upkeep, sequencing and accuracy of the Campaign Schedules to satisfy customer requirements

  • Must be willing to learn and manage all facets of the charge calculating system.

  • Coordinate and project all raw material needs to support melt campaigns, including revert flow.

  • Coordinate with Customer Service Representative(s) to maintain campaign to satisfy customer needs

  • Review with Engineering all out of specification heats, bars ends, other materials for best remelt usage or rejection

  • Track and report Inactive or slow moving materials. Work Engineering/quality/Sales and Plants for best liquidation

  • Monitor All inventories for accuracies

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Production Control

  • Interest in understanding the end-to-end investment casting processes, including wax pattern production, shell building, pouring/solidification, HIP, machining, and inspection.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-mix manufacturing environment.
  • Strong problem-solving ability with a proactive, collaborative mindset.
  • Understanding of capacity modeling, SIOP processes, and production planning fundamentals.
  • High attention to detail with a strong commitment to schedule accuracy, daily management discipline, and operational excellence.
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP and advanced Excel or planning tools.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to work across Operations, Tooling, Engineering, Quality, Procurement, and Supply Chain to drive alignment and accountability.
  • Ability to supervise and develop Production Planning & Supply Chain personnel, ensuring alignment to plant priorities and best practices.
  • Capability to monitor and report performance versus schedule and key targets, including schedule attainment, on-time delivery, and daily management metrics.
  • Experience managing inventory details such as time buffers, WIP control, and scheduling replenishment based on consumption and lead-time requirements.
  • Ability to track and influence freight costs through schedule accuracy, planning discipline, and proactive communication.
  • Experience providing delivery status updates directly to internal customers and through Customer Service for external customers.
  • Strong collaboration with casting operations' supply chain teams to assist in managing total APP inventory, including brokering shared alloys and helping eliminate slow-moving alloys across Casting Operations.

Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder')
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • Bachelor's Degree,
  • 5 years of experience with increasing responsibility in Production Control
  • Must be able to work with excel macros, pivot tables and advanced functions

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor Degree preferably in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management or related field.
  • APICS Certification preferred.

  • Manufacturing, purchasing, production planning experience also preferred.
  • Expert in Microsoft Excel / Access. Attention to detail.
  • Sense of urgency.
  • Good interpersonal skills
