Responsibilities:

Pediatric Hematology/Oncology RN's care for children with cancer and blood disorders, a role that blends highlevel clinical skill with deep emotional support. Based on the sources retrieved, here are the core responsibilities:

• Administer chemotherapy and other cancer treatments safely and accurately

• Monitor for side effects and complications, including reactions to chemotherapy, transfusions, or disease progression

• Assess vital signs, symptoms, and overall patient status throughout treatment

• Manage central lines (e.g., ports, PICC lines) and maintain strict infectioncontrol practices

• Provide supportive care such as pain management, hydration, and symptom relief

• Care for children with blood disorders such as sickle cell disease, hemophilia, anemia, and clotting disorders

• Administer blood products and monitor transfusion reactions

• Educate families on managing chronic hematologic conditions

Qualifications:

* Associate Degree in Nursing
* State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License
* BLS certification REQUIRED at time of hire
