Job Summary
To provide advanced paraprofessional patient care and nursing service to the physically ill in accordance with education and experience. Responsible for the safety, comfort, treatment and care of patients requiring the specialization of a skilled paraprofessional nurse.
Minimum Education and Experience

Graduation from an approved Vocational Nursing school; current license to practice as a Vocational Nurse in the State of Texas; 1 yr experience as an LVN; or equivalent combination of education & experience.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Current Texas license in good standing with the Texas BON
  • Two years of vocational nursing experience

  • BLS Certification required

Other Qualifications
To the extent this position requires the holder to research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure as defined in Section 117.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the critical infrastructure is a minimum qualification to be hired and to continue to be employed in the position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for exams
  • Assist clinicians with in-office procedures

  • CLIA waived laboratory tests
  • Perform venipuncture for routine labs
  • Administer medications/injections as ordered
  • Other nursing functions as assigned.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions
The Licensed Vocational Nurse ( LVN) position requires the ability to perform essential job functions safely and effectively in a clinical environment. Physical requirements include, but are not limited to:


  • Standing and Walking: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during patient care and clinic operations.

  • Lifting and Carrying: Must be able to lift, carry, and move objects and equipment weighing up to 25-50 pounds as needed.

  • Bending and Reaching: Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching to assist patients and access supplies.

  • Manual Dexterity: Sufficient hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills to perform clinical tasks such as injections, wound care, and documentation.

  • Visual and Hearing Requirements: Ability to see and hear adequately to assess patient conditions, read charts, and respond to alarms or verbal instructions.

  • Communication: Clear verbal and written communication to interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.

  • Environment: Work may involve exposure to infectious diseases, bodily fluids, and chemicals typically found in a healthcare setting. Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided.

Additional Information
After the probationary period, this role may be eligible for a hybrid (partly remote/partly in office) work schedule, subject to business need and manager approval. Must be located within the DFW Area and have the ability to be on campus with 24 hours of notice. A UT Dallas Remote Work Agreement will be required within 14 days after approval.
