Inside the Role

The Director of Corporate Communications is the senior-most communications leader at Daimler Truck North America (DTNA), responsible for shaping and executing the company's internal and external communications strategy. This role ensures alignment with Daimler Truck's global messaging while tailoring communications to the North American market. The position plays a critical role in reputation management, executive communications, media relations, crisis response, and employee engagement.

What You Drive at DTNA

Strategic Leadership:

* Develop and lead DTNA's comprehensive communications strategy, ensuring alignment with Daimler Truck's global brand and messaging.

Executive Communications:

* Serve as a strategic advisor to DTNA's President & CEO and senior leadership team. Craft speeches, presentations, and messaging for internal and external audiences.

Media & Public Relations:

* Act as DTNA's Company Spokesperson by managing relationships with key North American media outlets and journalists. Oversee press releases, media events, and proactive storytelling to enhance DTNA's reputation.

Internal Communications:

* Drive employee engagement through effective internal communications, including town halls, newsletters, corporate events and leadership messaging.

Crisis & Issues Management:

* Lead communication response during crises or sensitive issues, ensuring timely, transparent, and coordinated messaging.

Brand & Thought Leadership:

* Position DTNA as a North American industry thought leader through strategic content, executive visibility, and participation in key industry forums.

Team Leadership:

* Lead and develop a high-performing communications team. Foster collaboration across departments and with global counterparts.

Global Collaboration:

* Work closely with Daimler Truck AG's global communications team to ensure consistency and leverage global campaigns and resources.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field; Master's preferred.

  • 10+ years of experience in corporate communications, marketing communications or a combination of experiences with heavy emphasis on internal and external communications, preferably in heavy duty truck industry or closely related industry

  • Proven leadership in managing complex communications strategies across global organizations.

  • Exceptional writing, storytelling, and presentation skills.

  • Experience in media relations, crisis communications, and executive support.

  • Strong understanding of digital and social media platforms.

  • Ability to navigate matrixed organizations and influence at all levels.

  • Please note this role is open for local contract only and not eligible for Expat assignment.

  • Hold a valid existing Visa (L1A, L1B, L2, TN, H1B, H4 EAD, OPT EAD, CPT)
  • Daimler Truck North America employees working under an existing U.S. Daimler Truck North America Visa
  • Those eligible for a TN Visa (Canadian or Mexican National working in an Engineering, Accounting or Scientific Technologist capacity with an aligning degree)
  • Those eligible for an L-1 (inter-company) Daimler Truck visa under the Corporate Blanket L-1 program would require at least one-year of qualifying experience in the last three years
