The Cardiac Ultrasound Technician (Per Diem) in the Adult Echocardiography Laboratory is responsible for performing the full range of adult echocardiography procedures including, 2-D/3-D echo, stress echo (exercise/pharmacological), transesophageal echo and contrast echo in acute and outpatient care settings utilizing multi-vendor sourced equipment. The Cardiac Ultrasound technician is also responsible for maintaining a high standard of medical ethics at all times, is self-motivated to increase the level of understanding and knowledge of the field, disease, and new procedures as they evolve, and follow established examination standards that adhere to the policies and procedures of UCDHS and IAC standards. Clinical instruction of Cardiac ultrasound students and/or Cardiac Fellows may also be expected and required per the Echo Lab Supervisor's discretion. Participation in lab sponsored events/demonstrations as requested. This is a per diem position and can work Monday through Friday with varying hours between 7:30am and 6:00pm and weekend rotation. Availability for mandatory overtime and assignment to perform echo procedures at the Primary Care Network (PCN) clinics maybe required. #CA-SB

Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position
- American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS), or UC Davis Health CPR.
- Certificate of completion related to technical training in the cardio/vascular specialty or equivalent registry in cardiac sonography through ARDMS (RDCS) or CCI (RCS)
- Journey level Echocardiography experience
- Must be knowledgeable of diagnostic imaging technologies/equipment, their applications and uses in creation of diagnostic images.
- Must be knowledgeable in the use of body mechanics for safely moving and positioning patients.
- Communication skills to effectively deal with patients, physicians and peers.
- Ability to utilize diplomacy and tact and demonstrate patience in working with others under conditions of tension or stress.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous work experience in an acute care facility is preferred.

Work Environment
