This position works within our Revenue Management Team (RMT). Provides support with revenue and reimbursement billing, collection, tracking, and reporting for client and third-party fee revenues for the Fairfax-Falls Church Community Services Board (CSB). Processes financial, accounts receivable documents and reports; also processes reporting, monthly reconciliation and assistance with audit requests. Maintains expertise in several databases related to the electronic health record (EHR), insurance verification and revenue cycle management as well as Microsoft Office computer software, especially Outlook, Word, and Excel.
This position understands the preparation of medical billing and submission process and ensures that billing operations are performed accurately and in a timely manner. Additionally, evaluates billing processes and procedures to assist management in developing revisions. Monitors the revenue cycle activities and resolve any issues. Gathers data requests from RMT supervisors and ensure accurate and timely follow-up. Conducts quality assurance reviews on reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards. Collaborates with RMT members to understand, document, and summarize technical issues and workflows, and compiles and coordinates ad-hoc report requests. Works closely with the reporting team to ensure delivery of actionable insights and continuously learn and apply new features and capabilities of the EHR system to enhance reporting and data analysis. This position is expected to communicate fiscal requirements to facilitate technical implementation of the EHR.
Must be familiar with ICD-10, CPT and/or HCPCS coding systems as well as claims forms CMS-1500 and UB-04. Uses standard reports and client management information software to retrieve data for analysis of aged accounts receivables, denials, revenue, and other reports to identify problems or exceptions to compliance with program goals.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to the following:

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in accounting; or a bachelor's degree in business administration or related field that has been supplemented by at least 6 credit hours of basic accounting principles and concepts.
BRIDGE CLASS EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS:
Four years of increasingly complex technical administrative experience in the assigned functional area, comparable to experience at the Administrative Assistant IV, or higher, level. This class can serve as a bridge class enabling individuals who do not meet the educational or professional experience standards listed above to qualify for this class by possessing four years of increasingly complex technical administrative experience in the assigned functional area, comparable to experience at the Administrative Assistant IV, or higher, level.
The purpose of this bridge class is to promote upward mobility within the Fairfax County workforce. However, persons qualifying for this class on the basis of their technical experience may not substitute this technical experience for education, or for professional experience, in order to qualify for other employment opportunities.

The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check, a Child Protective Services Registry check, and sanction screening to the satisfaction of the employer. A TB screening upon hire. - Certain positions with financial responsibility within this class may be subject to criminal background checks and/or credit checks as a condition of employment and periodically thereafter, as determined by the department head. Applicants and employees within these positions must demonstrate financial responsibility in personal finances as a condition of employment.
- This position is emergency/essential services personnel. (Required to report for duty during inclement weather and/or other emergencies.)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong experience in billing, financial, accounts receivable, and analytical knowledge.

Experience using Credible/NextGen related to, Reporting, Accounts Receivable activities. -
Experience with complex datasets and creating actionable insights preferred. -
Detail oriented, problem solver, able to multitask and prioritize. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with both internal and external contacts. -
Well organized, flexible, and adept in the challenges of supporting a work environment that collaborates and coordinates with a variety of county departments. -
Proactive, efficient, and resourceful with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. -
Experienced with and strong Microsoft Office skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Job is generally sedentary in nature. Ability to bend, stoop, and lift of up to 20 lbs. Ability to use a personal computer, including keyboard and mouse and read a computer monitor. Incumbent must be able to communicate both orally and in writing. All duties performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
