$22.11 to $24.32 hourly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. North Area/Titusville. Work schedule is Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and may include evenings, weekends, and holidays. Performs skilled technical and skilled service work of which may be complex in nature and/or large in scope. Responsible for projects and tasks and the supervision of Mosquito Control employees working on those tasks. May act as the Mosquito Control Supervisor in their absence.



REQUIREMENTS: Eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in mosquito control application. Mosquito control application experience must include automotive or water craft operation, documenting service activity, developing and documenting electronic and written records and/or reports, project or task management experience, and three (3) of the following areas: aircraft support, construction, heavy equipment operation, equipment repairs, impoundment operations, airboat operations and fogging system operations. Additional education cannot be substituted for mosquito control application experience. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess a valid Florida Class B Commercial Driver's License and maintain said license during term of employment. Must possess certification as an Arthropod Control Applicator in accordance with the specifications set forth in Florida Statute 388.361(4). Must have experience in the identification of mosquitoes and mosquito larvae and the ability to properly identify the appropriate chemical(s) to effectively treat. Must be physically capable at all times of properly wearing and utilizing the appropriate respiratory protection. Must have passed the University of Florida Advanced Inspector Sprayer Course. Must be able to work extended hours during peak season, mosquito outbreaks, and fire and/or overtime. May be required to pass a respiratory physical for wearing a self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA). May be required to be physically capable at all times of properly wearing and utilizing a self-contained breathing apparatus. In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man made disaster which may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
