Job Description
Kearney & Company is hiring a Budget and Appropriations Affairs SME to join our growing team! Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Manage Correspondence for the Budget and Appropriations Affairs Directorate in OUSW(C), BAA
- Provide standardized mechanisms for capturing, assigning, tracking, reviewing, coordinating, and managing correspondence and tasks to facilitate actions and decision-making for the OPS Directorate
- Coordinate with all stakeholders to ensure completeness of correspondence packages from beginning to end
- Edit and process executive correspondence packages for senior leader signature
- Correspondence packages include congressional letters and reports, decision memoranda, DoD policies and directives, and responses to incoming mail
- Utilize the Correspondence and Task Management System (CATMS) to process packages from receipt to closure
- Facilitate weekly meetings with the Executive Assistants and Executive Services counterparts to discuss the latest hot topics and issues
- Coordinate with subordinate offices to assign and implement reviews and routing of CATMS packages
- Proofread CATMS packages for formatting and editing as necessary
- Prepare documents for signature and ensure proper routing through the staff via hard copy and CATMS
- Report the status of organizational CATMS packages to senior government officials
- Attend and participate in meetings, take meeting notes, record taskers, and actions, and update the staff when necessary
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- BA/BS/BBA degree from an accredited college/university
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience
- Willing to work onsite at the Pentagon daily
- Must possess a Secret clearance
- Must be proficient in using the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly with pivot tables and other advanced features of Excel
- Must have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent writing skills and the ability to quickly deliver quality written products in constrained time periods
- Must have outstanding communication skills to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders across DoD
- Must have experience in managing customer expectations and working directly with customers on various ad hoc requests
Preferred Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in translating stakeholder requirements into executable solutions
- Ability to multi-task across multiple projects
- Experience with the DoD Correspondence and Task Management System (CATMS)
- Experience as a Flag Writer, Executive Administrative Assistant, or Commander's Support Staff at the headquarters is desirable

This range is representative of base pay only and does not include straight time pay for hours worked over 40 per week, company contributions towards paid benefits, and/or bonuses. Actual compensation (meeting or exceeding the range) will be determined based on specific experience, education, work location, clearance level, and other factors permitted by law.
