Basic Function

Basic responsibility is to carry out all procedures specified in the High Jump system in an accurate, timely, orderly, and efficient manner. While working under direction of plant policies and procedures. The Inventory Control Supervisor is responsible for planning, coordinating and carrying out the activities including receiving raw materials into inventory, issuing materials to the factory for production, and maintaining procedures to assure an accurate inventory.

Organizational Relationships

Reports directly to the plant manager. Will work very close with the Quality Assurance Manager on all quality issues on shipments from vendors. May receive advice and direction from assistant plant manager and area superintendents as needed. Works closely with all plant department managers. Gives and receives assistance to and from all plant departments.

Departmental Operation

* Production Scheduling

Receives production requirements from purchasing department. Screens all orders for special instructions and/or notations. Coordinates with Assistant Plant Manager to issue Raw Materials necessary to produce the schedule, to all plant departments. Adjust High Jump inventory to reflect issues.

* Special Projects

Works with Project manager(s) to assure enough Inventory is on hand as required to meet customer's expectations on large projects.

* Receiving and Inspection

Oversees receiving of parts/product from both domestic and overseas vendors. Verifies that the quantities received agree with those on the BOL's and invoice.

* Inventory Control

Receives product to High Jump inventory. Assigns locations to product and separates locations by lot control when necessary. Schedules and verifies cycle counts to ensure accurate inventory. Records scrap and adjust inventory accordingly. Makes purchasing suggestions based on usage history and forecasting. Communicates with purchasing department on potential lead-time issues and inventory shortages.

Personnel

The Inventory Control Supervisor is authorized to take any reasonable action necessary to maintain effective operations within the department under him. These actions must be in accordance with the Bernhardt policy manual and other established policies, practices and subject to the general or specific authority as established by the Director of Manufacturing.
