Current Need:

The Lead Product Portfolio Manager for Genospace is a senior, highly specialized product leader responsible for the end-to-end portfolio strategy, product direction, and lifecycle execution of Genospace's oncology data and clinical research solutions. This role serves as the primary product authority for Genospace's platform and services, bridging deep clinical and data-science expertise with enterprise-scale product strategy, delivery, and governance.

This position operates with broad autonomy and consultative direction, leading complex, cross-functional initiatives that span product management, engineering, data science, quality/compliance, operations, and external partners. The role is recognized internally as an in-house expert in oncology data workflows, clinical research technology, and real-world data curation.

A core component of this role includes strategic product leadership across the oncology and multispecialty ecosystem, ensuring Genospace products and services enable clinical research, precision medicine, and real-world data workflows across community providers, research networks, and biopharma partners. This role balances the needs of diverse stakeholders while ensuring Genospace solutions remain scalable, compliant, and aligned to broader enterprise objectives.

In addition to portfolio ownership, this role provides day-to-day functional leadership and mentorship for product managers and product owners operating within an agile development environment, ensuring consistent product practices, high-quality decision-making, and alignment to Genospace's portfolio strategy.

This is an individual contributor Product Manager role. Over time, and based on business needs and demonstrated impact, the scope may expand to include people leadership with direct management responsibility for Genospace product team.

This position is part of theInsights & Technology organization and serves as a senior product leader responsible for the Genospace product portfolio, providing research-quality, enterprise-ready solutions in support of oncology and multispecialty clinical research. Genospacebuilds data and technology solutions thatsupport oncologyclinical research, precision medicine, and real-world data applications. Our platform enables capabilities such as EHR-to-EDC data transfer, clinical trial matching, and analytics that connect sites, sponsors, and research networks. As the strategic product owner for these capabilities, this role ensures Genospace's platform effectively supports clinical research programs, biopharma collaborations, and partner workflows-while remaining scalable, compliant, and aligned to broader enterprise objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Portfolio & Product Strategy

  • Own the Genospace product portfolio strategy, including platform capabilities, services, roadmap alignment, and end-to-end product success from launch through adoption across clinical research, real-world data, and precision medicine use cases.

  • Define and evolve multi-year product vision and investment strategy, balancing innovation, scalability, compliance, and commercial outcomes through establishing clear KPIs to measure product performance, adoption, and impact.

  • Identify new growth opportunities by analyzing market trends, sponsor needs, site workflows, regulatory requirements, competitive landscape, and usage patterns.

  • Lead business case development for new products, major enhancements, and portfolio optimization initiatives, including expected value realization and success metrics.

  • Develop and present portfolio-level recommendations and performance insights to senior business leaders to inform investment, prioritization, and course-correction decisions.

Domain & Technical Leadership

  • Serve as the product authority on oncology data models, EMR-to-EDC integrations, clinical trial workflows, biomarker data, and real-world evidence use cases.

  • Translate complex clinical, informatics, and data-science concepts into actionable product requirements and scalable solutions.

  • Guide decisions related to data curation, metadata standards, interoperability, and analytics readiness.

  • Act as a trusted partner to engineering and data science on system design, tradeoffs, and long-term architectural considerations.

Cross-Functional & Enterprise Leadership

  • Collaborate closely with engineering, data science, quality/compliance, legal, finance, sales, account management, and corporate strategy.

  • Represent Genospace product strategy in executive, governance, and partner forums across McKesson, Ontada, SCRI, and external stakeholders.

  • Provide functional leadership to product managers and product owners embedded in agile delivery teams, ensuring clarity of product vision, prioritization, and execution.

  • Lead roadmap execution and adoption across matrixed teams and external partners to drive alignment and execution.

  • Support commercial and partner engagements by articulating product value, differentiation, and roadmap direction.

  • Serve as an escalation point for complex product decisions impacting multiple teams, products, or stakeholders, including external research partners.

Quality, Compliance & Risk-Based Thinking

  • Ensure product strategy and execution align with GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, and validated system expectations.

  • Partner with quality and compliance teams to define risk-based approaches to product changes, audit readiness, and operational controls.

  • Balance innovation with regulatory rigor in a highly scrutinized clinical and healthcare environment.

Execution & Delivery Oversight

  • Lead complex, high-impact initiatives from concept through delivery, including platform enhancements, new services, and cross-portfolio integrations.

  • Establish clear success metrics and continuously evaluate product performance, adoption, and outcomes.

  • Drive prioritization decisions that optimize value delivery while managing technical and operational constraints.

Leadership & Talent Development

  • Act as a mentor and senior leader to product managers and cross-functional partners.

  • Support onboarding, development, and performance feedback for product talent in partnership with people managers.

  • Contribute to the evolution of Genospace's product operating model, standards, and best practices.

Minimum Requirement:

  • Degree or equivalent and typically requires 10+ years of relevant experience. Less years required if has relevant Master's or Doctorate qualifications.

Critical Skills:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in product management, product portfolio management, or related leadership roles, preferably in healthcare, life sciences, or regulated technology environments.

  • Demonstrated experience leading complex, enterprise-scale products or platforms.

  • Deep understanding of healthcare data, clinical workflows, and/or clinical research technology.

  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive outcomes in a matrixed organization.

  • Ability to travel up to 15% of the time nationwide.

Preferred Experience

  • Background in biomedical informatics, data science, or advanced analytics.

  • Experience with oncology data, clinical trials, EMR/EHR systems, real-world evidence, or biomarker data.

  • Familiarity with GxP-regulated software development and validation frameworks.

  • Track record of serving as a subject-matter expert within an organization.

  • Experience building or evolving product organizations and mentoring future leaders.

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. $146,600 - $244,400
