Loader Operator

Operates a crawler or rubber-tired machine mounted with a loader bucket. Used to load structures and dirt from excavations, loading trucks, pipe and precast concrete structures.

• Check oil, water, fuel, tires, hydraulic system, etc. and make appropriate adjustments to be certain vehicle is in proper operating condition prior to leaving for job site.
• Conducts safety and maintenance checks on assigned equipment and machinery.
• Start engines, move throttles, switches, and levers, and depress pedals to operate machines.
• Signal truck driver to position truck to facilitate loading/unloading of dirt, rocks, and other materials.
• Take actions to avoid potential hazards and obstructions such as utility lines, other equipment, and falling objects.
• Perform maintenance work to equipment including oiling, greasing, and making necessary adjustments.
• Maintain a professional appearance.
• Knowledgeable about and follow the company's safety policies and procedures as described in the company's safety manual

• One year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Able to meet the physical requirements of the position which involves sitting, standing, bending, climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds, working at heights, in confined spaces and in all types of weather conditions such as rain, snow, heat, etc.
