Occupational Health Clinical Care Technician Job Responsibilities:

The Occupational Health Clinical Care Technician performs ancillary testing according to established protocols and client contracts while monitoring charts for pending medical reports and reviewing all charts for completion and readiness. Refers to client instructions to properly perform and record testing requirements while triaging and processing department customers according to contractual instructions. Verifies procedure completion by recording test completion in the Occupational Health database.

  • Accesses Occupational Health flow sheet to determine test components.
  • Demonstrates proficiency with the Occupational Health database program.
  • Contacts employer representative when further explanation or instructions are indicated.
  • Upon client discharge, ensures chart completion and delivers to the front office for final billing. Prepares all clients for testing by providing thorough explanations of exam components prior to physical exams.
  • Follows all established standards, as required, by certifying agencies (e.g. Department of Transportation and NIOSH).
  • Documents all client results on designated forms and ensures test report forms are accurate and included in client charts.
  • Ensures the successful completion of required training courses (e.g. spirometry, drug/alcohol, audiometry, and phlebotomy).
  • May perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent
  • Experience: One year of experience in the clinical setting
  • Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) upon start

Preferred Qualification:

  • Phlebotomy and/or blood draw experience
