About the opportunity

SWCA is seeking a Technology Procurement Intern to join the Technology Team in the Summer of 2026. We offer a challenging work environment where you will be a part of a team supporting SWCA's procurement and business needs. This position is available to sit remote in any location within the United States.

This internship will occur during the summer of 2026 (early June-mid August). Candidates who can start earlier than June 2026 will be considered, and those who can remain past August may provide additional value. Interns can expect coaching and direction from functional leadership in their respective support areas and participate in the larger internship cohort for scheduled developmental programming with senior organizational leaders.

This is a paid, full-time internship. Interns will be paid $19.00/hr.

What you will accomplish

  • Works alongside Procurement Manager and Buyer to manage the approved Software and Subscriptions list, including managing fields, data, and defining tools and process
  • Works with and between applications and procurement teams, and other Technology teams as needed, to liaise and consolidate data and records for purchasing and managing tools
  • Learns and participates in vendor engagement, negotiation, and purchasing processes for hardware, software, and network technology
  • Learns the day-to-day Technology procurement team responsibilities and participates in routine responsibilities and administration
  • Complies with all SWCA and technology department policies and procedures, including those for equipment, hardware, software, security, access, and change management in conjunction with department leads and department-specific requirements

Experience and qualifications for success

Required

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program having a junior classification or higher, with an emphasis in Business Supply Chain Management, Management Information Technology, or related field.
  • Recent graduates will also be considered with a graduation date within 12 months of May 2025
  • Ability to work remotely from most of the Team
  • Reliable high speed Internet connection required

Knowledge & Experience

  • Academic experience with Business, Supply Chain, Purchasing, or Negotiation
  • Academic experience using Sharepoint, Excel, and similar tools

Personal Attributes

  • Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential
  • Strong written and oral communication skills including the ability to document work
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies
