Work Schedule:

100% FTE, day/evening shift. Monday - Friday daytime hours with shifts starting between 7:30AM - 8:30AM. Occasional need for evening shifts as needed. Ability to arrive to locations at clinic open to cover sick calls is required. You will be trained at many locations within and outside of Dane County. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.

Pay:

  • External hires may be eligible for a $10,000 sign on bonus.
  • This position includes a float differential of $3.50 per hour.

We are seeking a Senior Medical Technologist (MT) - Float to:

  • Provide daily direction to other laboratory staff with regard to laboratory workload, policies, procedures, and recommend adjustments to staffing, policies and procedures.
  • Serve as a consult for test performance and technical problems.
  • Motivate, coordinate and support staff to ensure quality results are reported in a timely manner.
  • Assure that all remedial actions are taken whenever test systems deviate from the laboratory's established performance specifications and that patient test results are not reported until all corrective actions have been taken and the test system is properly functioning.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology Required or
  • Bachelor's Degree must include minimally 60 semester hours or equivalent, that includes either: 24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses OR 24 semester hours - 6 chemistry, 6 biology and 12 chemistry, biology, medical laboratory technology in any combination Required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science (CLS) Preferred
  • Master's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science (MLS) or related science or healthcare field Preferred
Work Experience
  • 2 years of experience in a clinical laboratory with emphasis on skills related to work area Required
  • 3 years of experience in a clinical laboratory with emphasis on skills related to work area Preferred
Licenses & Certifications
  • Certification (Medical Laboratory Scientist, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, Technologist in Blood Bank, Molecular Biology) by the board of American Society of Clinical Pathologists or equivalent Preferred
