Department OverviewThe U.S. Federal Governments Markets Division (USFGMD) is chartered with being the premier, compliant supplier of world-class communications solutions to the U.S. Federal Government by providing the highest quality products, systems and services. The Federal Systems Technology Department of the USFGMD is responsible for service supporting a charter of implementing and integrating complex systems sold worldwide to the U.S. Federal Government. As a USFGMD System Upgrade Agreement Field Service Technician (FST), you will be exposed to a wide variety of communications requirements in both the Presale, Post Sale, and sustainment/life cycle phases of a project. These applications span the entire breadth of the U.S. Federal Government throughout the world. Job DescriptionThe Navy ELMR represents the world's most extensive and intricate ASTRO system. The military program (System Upgrade Agreement/SUA) Field Support Team (FST) plays a crucial, hands-on role in achieving communication objectives. Working closely with other FSTs and Engineers, the SUA FST is responsible for both the strategic design and the daily execution of technical efforts, including developing a strategy for and then carrying out the various upgrades, migrations, and system expansion plans. Additionally, SUA FST members may be required to provide assistance with preventative maintenance, troubleshoot and resolve break-fix issues, and support other programs as needed.
