Returns with Purpose: Where Accuracy, Accountability, and Impact Meet

Join a fast-growing distribution organization that prides itself on operational discipline, inventory integrity, and smart decision-making. This is a direct-hire Warehouse Returns Specialist opportunity for a detail-driven professional who thinks like an investigator, protects company margins, and ensures every return is handled with accuracy, consistency, and confidence.

Hours & Pay:

  • Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour and up (based on experience)
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Why This Role Is Different:

This is not a routine processing role. You'll serve as a critical control point for returns, credits, and inventory accuracy-using judgment, documentation, and data analysis to prevent repeat issues and financial risk. As a direct-hire employee, you'll receive a competitive benefits package designed to support long-term growth, stability, and professional development, with full details shared upon hire.

What You'll Do Day to Day

  • Own the full lifecycle of returned products, from intake and investigation to credit authorization and inventory disposition
  • Verify return documentation, product accuracy, and condition while identifying discrepancies immediately
  • Conduct detailed root-cause investigations using ERP systems and physical documentation
  • Assign a single, policy-aligned root cause for each return, distinguishing customer-driven issues from internal process failures
  • Analyze return trends to identify systemic risks and recommend corrective actions to leadership
  • Authorize customer credits within policy while balancing financial risk, audit compliance, and service expectations
  • Fully document all credit decisions and exceptions to meet audit standards
  • Direct disposition of returned inventory, including restock, quarantine, scrap, or vendor return
  • Ensure accurate ERP transactions and inventory reconciliation related to returns
  • Enforce compliance with return, credit, and cut-off policies to prevent margin erosion and shrink
  • Support inventory counts, variance investigations, and corrective action initiatives
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with warehouse leadership, shipping, inventory control, sales, customer service, and transportation teams

What You'll Bring

  • 3+ years of experience in warehouse operations, returns, inventory control, or shipping
  • Strong investigative mindset with excellent attention to detail and documentation accuracy
  • Experience handling credits, financial transactions, or audit-related processes
  • Ability to assess operational and financial risk and enforce policy under pressure
  • Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Confidence to challenge discrepancies and protect process integrity
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems such as Microsoft AX (or equivalent)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed

Preferred Background

  • Experience in industrial, automotive, agricultural, or large-scale distribution environments
  • Prior involvement in inventory counts or audit processes
  • Proven ability to reconcile system transactions with physical inventory

This is a non-entry-level, direct-hire opportunity for professionals who thrive in accountability-driven environments and want to make a measurable impact on warehouse operations and financial accuracy.
