We're Hiring: Pharmacy Assistant - Daphne, AL

Southern Cancer Center is hiring a Pharmacy Technician to support our licensed pharmacy operations under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist.

Position Overview

As a Pharmacy Assistant, you will perform technical, nonjudgmental tasks related to medication preparation, distribution, inventory control, and record keeping. Your work will be verified by a registered pharmacist or nurse, and you'll play a key role in ensuring safe and efficient pharmacy operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing medication orders, including compounding and admixing under supervision.
• Verify patient and physician information for accuracy.
• Admix drugs per department and OSHA guidelines.
• Calculate dosage volumes and convert between metric/apothecary equivalents.
• Maintain controlled drug counts and proper disposal of materials.
• Support inventory control, temperature logs, and documentation of lot numbers.
• Prepare labels, file records, and assist with billing and data entry.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 0-3 years of experience in a pharmacy setting.
• Ability to perform manual tasks with precision and attention to detail.
• Must be able to sit/stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs.
• Corrected vision and hearing required.

Work Environment

• Exposure to patients and medicinal substances, including chemotherapeutic agents.
