A Sr. Commodity Manager job in Woodinville, WA is available at Ste. Michelle Wine Estates (SMWE). This role is responsible for managing Indirect spend categories-including Marketing, IT, and Logistics-through effective category strategy development, alignment, and execution. The Senior Commodity Manager serves as a strategic partner to internal stakeholders, ensuring business unit and enterprise-wide objectives are achieved. This role requires occasional overtime throughout the week and leads the development, negotiation, execution, and ongoing administration of supplier contracts, while ensuring full adherence to SMWE policies and procedures.

Sr. Commodity Manager job responsibilities include:



  • Develop category strategies based on internal and external analysis, including cost/process impacts. Align and execute category strategy. Provide analysis of price and market trends and lead time updates for stakeholders and finance.
  • Complete spend analytics and develop opportunity matrix for assigned commodity areas. Gain alignment to meet annual cost forecasting and savings objectives.
  • Responsible for the negotiation, execution and administration of contracts and purchase orders for materials based on assigned commodities.
  • Develop effective internal and supplier relationships/partnerships to drive business results.
  • Manage multiple project timelines effectively.
  • Conduct supplier visits/evaluations to determine suitability and to make recommendations for improvement.
  • Procurement of goods and services in support of company needs. Identify, communicate, and resolve lead time, delivery, quality, and pricing issues.
  • Accurate and timely maintenance of item master, monthly open orders report, and purchase price variance reports as needed.
  • Provide support to other Buyers as needed.


Position Requirements:



  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in business administration (or related field) preferred
  • 4+ years of experience in a sourcing role, including the category strategy development/execution, RFI/RFQ, contract negotiations, and compliance with procurement requirements.
  • Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.) preferred.
  • Previous Marketing, IT, or Logistics category sourcing experienced preferred.
  • Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Familiar with manufacturing and quality control processes, experience is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build collaborative stakeholder and supplier relationships.
  • Team oriented with solid problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement focus.
  • Must be able to lift up to 20lbs.
  • Requires several hours of constant sitting and significant hour doing computer work.
  • History of responsible use of alcohol and other appropriate conduct, as well as fitness to be licensed, permitted, and/or certified by state and/or local regulatory bodies.



Your Compensation:

$83,374.00 - $108,319.00/yr. based upon relevant experience.
