Paid Time Off:

Eligible employees begin accruing PTO on their date of hire. PTO combines vacation and sick leave, starting at 15 days per year for full-time employees. UMC also follows Washington State Sick Leave guidelines, providing one hour of sick leave for every 40 hours worked.

Position Description

Starting Salary Range: $100,000 - $120,000; depending on experience

Location: Everett, WA

Classification: Exempt

Position Overview:

Responsible for testing, implementing, and training on current and emerging technologies, software, and processes that enhance UMC's Manufacturing Department and support future growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage the deployment and maintenance of programs used in the Manufacturing Department, including but not limited to:
  2. Revit
  3. FAB-MEP
  4. Navisworks
  5. Revizto
  6. Flypaper Sherlock
  7. Stratus
  8. AR/VR/MR Technologies
  9. Dynamo
  10. BIM360 products
  11. Trackvia
  12. TigerStop
  13. DADO
  14. VICTools
  15. Collaborate with the Virtual Construction (VC) Operations Manager and Director of Manufacturing on selecting and testing new programs and equipment.
  16. Troubleshoot technical issues within the Manufacturing Department as they arise.
  17. Partner with the IT Department to coordinate deployment and updates for current software programs.
  18. Beta test new programs and provide recommendations prior to deployment.
  19. Train current and new staff on existing software and new technologies adopted by the department.
  20. Regularly meet with the VC Operations Manager and Director of Manufacturing to provide updates and propose new solutions.
  21. Identify and recommend improvements to existing processes and programs.
  22. Oversee the integration of software, hardware, and tooling between the fabrication shop and Virtual Construction systems.
  23. Document all processes, training procedures, and program implementations.

Secondary Responsibilities:

  1. Generate and analyze reports on program effectiveness and share insights with Manufacturing leadership.
  2. Research new technologies and methods to improve modeling and fabrication efficiency.
  3. Recommend new tools or discontinue existing ones if they are no longer effective.
  4. Build relationships with peer companies to gain insight into industry best practices.
  5. Help form a technology peer group to exchange ideas and evaluate new tools.
Position Requirements

Required Skills and Abilities:

  1. Proficiency with AutoCAD 2018 or later, Fabrication CADmep, Revit, Navisworks, and Autodesk BIM 360 products.
  2. Strong organizational and time management skills.
  3. Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills.
  4. Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  5. Familiarity with Windows operating systems and key applications, including:
  6. Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  7. Microsoft Teams
  8. Bluebeam Revu
  9. Solid understanding of construction industry practices.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  1. Two or more years of formal AutoCAD training from a technical school or community college; or
  2. Six or more years of relevant on-the-job experience.

Required Licensing and Other Certifications:

  1. Maintain a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
