Position Description

The Sr. Director of Network Systems Engineering will provide strategic leadership for McKesson's global network infrastructure, including data centers, distribution centers, remote locations, and hybrid cloud environments. This roleis responsible fordefining and executing the network engineering strategy, driving modernization initiatives, and ensuring operational excellence across a large-scale enterprise environment. The Sr. Director will lead a team of senior engineers and managers,fosterinnovation and collaboration while aligning technology solutions with McKesson's businessobjectives.

The Sr. Director will have deep technicalexpertisecombined with strong business acumen, capable of transforming complex challenges into executable strategies. This role oversees the design, implementation, and governance of network systems globally, ensuring security, reliability, and scalability. Responsibilities include managing day-to-day operations, driving automation, and leading network transformation programs to support McKesson's digital future.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide strategic direction and leadership for global network engineering and operations.

* Lead and develop a high-performing team of senior engineers and managers.

* Define and execute network modernization initiatives, including automation, virtualization, and cloud migration.

* Collaborate with senior IT leaders and business stakeholders to align network strategy with enterpriseobjectives.

* Oversee operational excellence, including patching, monitoring, upgrades, and performance tuning.

* Establish and enforce global policies, standards, and best practices for network engineering.

* Manage allocation of people and financial resources to meet strategic goals.

* Drive process improvements and cost optimization whilemaintainingsecurity and reliability.

* Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and corporate governance standards.

* Serve asescalationpoint for complex network issues and lead problem resolution at Level 4.

Leadership and Strategic Responsibilities

* Providesstrategic directionfor global network engineering, overseeing data centers, distribution centers, remote sites, and hybrid cloud environments.

* Leads ateam of senior engineers and managers, fosters innovation, and aligns network solutions with business goals.

* Managesday-to-day operations, including patching, monitoring, upgrades, and performance tuning, ensuring security and reliability.

* Oversees resource allocation and enforces global policies, standards, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Minimum Requirements

• Typically has 13+ years of professional experience and 6+ years diversified leadership, planning, communication, organization and people motivation skill (or equivalent experience).

Critical Skills

* 12+ years of progressive experience in large-scale network engineering and operations (Cisco/Arista environments).

* 7+ years of leadership experience managing senior technical teams in enterprise environments.

* Proventrack recordin strategic planning and execution of network transformation and cloud migration.

* Expertisein automation, software-defined networking, virtualization, and hybrid cloudarchitecture.

* Strong business acumen and ability to communicate technical strategies in business terms.

* Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills.

* Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives.

* Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Education

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CCIE, AWS/Azure networking) preferred.
