ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists and transcribes by printing reports, separating copies and processing copies for mailing.
  • Follow-up with problems and complaints.
  • Looking up results in computer.
  • Matches slides with gross work sheet in am and delivers them to the Pathologist.
  • Monitors volunteers in department who files slides and reports.
  • Processes incoming test requests for Pathology, cytology and out-patient clinical, incoming and outgoing test results.
  • Recognizes the administrative changes in staffing and scheduling and adapts to these changes.
  • Responsible for understanding and participating in the organization-wide Quality Improvement Program through orientation, education, departmental and interdepartmental quality control, quality improvement, and quality planning activities.
  • Retrieves and process slides for consultation review and send outs.
  • Retrieves and process slides for out-patient use.
  • Stock replenishing

  • California Phlebotomy Certification - CPTI or CPTII required.
  • Must successfully complete and maintain BLS certification.

Pay Transparency

The hourly rate range for this position is $21.00 - $24.65. POSITION SUMMARY
The position of Pathology Laboratory Technician II requires attention to details, especially in the labeling, handling, and processing of Pathology Specimens. Responsible for a variety of clerical duties including computer competency, test order entry, filing, copying and organizing reports, records and mail. Directly reports to Lab Support Coordinator and Mgmt.
