Position Overview

The Data Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and optimizing largescale data ingestion, storage, and processing solutions within the enterprise data lake environment. This role ensures that highquality, wellstructured data is available for analytics, reporting, data science, and downstream applications. The ideal candidate has strong experience in distributed data systems, cloudnative data platforms, and modern ETL/ELT pipelines


Responsibilities

  • Build data architecture and storage solutions, including data lake houses, data lakes, data warehouse, and data marts to support analytics and reporting.
  • Design, develop and maintain data pipelines, and extract, transform, load (ETL) processes to collect, process and store structured and unstructured data.
  • Design graph database models and schemas, and develop and implement graph database solutions.
  • Partner with BI and AI/ML teams to expose trusted datasets and features.
  • Develop data reliability, efficiency, and quality checks and processes.
  • Contribute to data governance practices including cataloging, lineage, classification, and access control.
  • Administer testing and troubleshooting related to performance, reliability, and scalability.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering or AI/ML production systems.
  • Technical Skills: SQL, Python/Scala, ETL/ELT tools, Azure Cloud Platforms, Data Warehousing, Data Modeling, API Integration.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, warehousing, and data lake architecture.
  • Experience building data pipelines, managing data lakes, working with structured & unstructured data
  • Experience in Graph data modeling, graph databases (e.g., Neo4j, MongoDB) and Proficiency in graph query languages
  • Knowledge of data formats (Parquet, Avro, JSON, Delta Lake).
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, warehousing, and data lake architecture.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong problemsolving and analytical thinking.
  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams and translate technical concepts for nontechnical audiences.
  • Attention to detail and focus on delivering reliable, scalable data solutions.


Desired Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with modern data pipeline orchestration tools (Azure Data Factory).
  • Working knowledge of Azure data and AI services (Azure Data Lake, Azure Machine Learning, Azure Cognitive Services, Azure OpenAI).
  • Knowledge of records management practices and demonstrated skills in training and process improvement.
  • Experience with electronic records/document management systems (ERMS/EDMS) such as SharePoint, OpenText, or equivalent platforms


Note: This position requires specific driving duties. You must be able to pass a motor vehicle records check required by our insurer.

Pay Range
$100,000 $125,000 USD

The EA pay range for this position is intended as a general guideline and does not guarantee specific compensation or salary. Factors considered when making an offer include job responsibilities, education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, alignment with market data, and compliance with federal and state laws.
