The Windows Cloud Experiences team is seeking a Software Engineer who is passionate about exploring new technologies, writing high-quality code, pushing delightful user interactions, and driving engineering excellence. In this role, you'll contribute to rapid, iterative releases and have the opportunity to innovate across multiple areas of our product (such as clients, device redirections, SDKs, and cross-platform foundational code).   • Cloud-Powered Windows Experiences: Contribute to the next generation of cloud-integrated Windows solutions, leveraging Azure and Microsoft 365 to enable scalable, resilient, and enterprise-grade remote desktop services.
  • Cutting-Edge Technologies: Work with a modern tech stack including C++, C# .net, JavaScript/TypeScript, FAST and React, while developing deep expertise in developing scalable native client applications for Windows.
  • End-to-End Product Ownership: Collaborate across architecture, development, deployment, and Live Site operations, ensuring robust telemetry, proactive monitoring, and rapid incident response for a global user base.
  • Agile and Impactful Delivery: Operate in a fast-paced, iterative environment with short release cycles, where innovation and customer impact are prioritized, and every engineer has the opportunity to shape product direction.

Responsibilities
  • Collaboratewith experienced engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver seamless, secure, and high-performance remote desktop experiences.
  • Contributeto the design and development of scalable, reliable, and user-friendly native client applications using modern technologies.
  • Participatein the full software development lifecycle - from implementation and testing to deployment and live site monitoring.
  • Writeclean, maintainable, and efficient code while following team coding standards and best practices.
  • Troubleshootand fixissues related to operating system integration, app performance, and connectivity.
  • Usetelemetry and customer feedback to validate solutions and continuously improve product quality.
  • Learnfrom senior engineers and actively participate in code reviews, design discussions, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
  • Embraceagile development and a DevOps mindset - delivering iterative improvements and contributing to service reliability.
  • Embody Microsoftculture and values.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements: Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the
  • Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Expertise in native app development for Windows, iOS, iPadOS and Android.
  • Expertise in Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) solutions.
  • Expertise with remote desktop protocols (e.g. RDP, ICA, VNC).

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
