Overview
The Microsoft Offensive Research & Security Engineering (MORSE) team is looking for a learn-it-all engineering manager that will help secure Microsoft products. The MORSE team is responsible for securing Microsoft's operating systems, including Windows, cloud computing platforms, and virtualization technologies. These solutions support the daily needs of over one billion customers worldwide. This team performs security design reviews, code reviews, and vulnerability research on key features of Windows and Azure to make sure they meet the highest possible security standards. Our engineering team builds mitigations, hardens operating systems, builds scalable bug detection systems, improves developer tools, and creates cutting edge vulnerability research capabilities. In this role, you will lead a team of security researchers dedicated to helping Microsoft engineers deliver the most secure products possible. As a manager, you'll focus on developing your team-supporting career growth, fostering a positive culture, and advocating for individual and collective success. You'll coordinate with other technical leaders to execute strategic projects, facilitate open feedback channels, and help shape processes that drive organizational improvement. The ideal candidate will have experience managing teams performing platform security testing, a clear understanding of OS security, and experience in high-ambiguity, high-autonomy roles. Penetration Testing M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
