SUMMARY
-
The Associate Dean plays a pivotal role assisting with the overall leadership, management, and administrative support for the School. The Associate Dean is responsible for overseeing personnel, program maintenance, dual credit initiatives, student support, and daily school operations. This role actively contributes to the growth and development of the School, fostering a positive and inclusive environment, fostering a strength-based and interest-based environment.
This position has supervisory responsibilities and reports to the Dean, School of Business, Transportation/Dual Credit.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Personnel Management:
- Recruit, hire, onboard, supervise, and evaluate faculty and staff.
- Set expectations, provide coaching, and offer regular feedback to ensure successful employee performance.
- Review and approve instructional assignments
- Supervise, conduct performance evaluations and faculty observations.
Communication and Inclusion:
- Maintain transparent and open communication with administration, faculty, staff, and students.
- Demonstrate commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in student engagement, campus climate, and overall higher education settings.
Collaboration and Administrative Support:
- Manage daily school processes, including staff absences, travel, expense reporting, and other administrative tasks.
- Collaborate with Academic Operations to create the annual schedule of the school's course offerings.
- Collaborate with Program Effectiveness Coordinators for program vitality, student learning assessment, and curriculum maintenance processes.
- Assist the Dean with advisory committees, accreditation work, and projects to support the growth of the School.
Program and Dual Credit Management:
- Oversee dual credit offerings and academy programs, including recruitment strategies and faculty engagement.
- Manage the implementation of new programs, ensuring documentation, facility preparation, equipment procurement, and faculty development.
Student Support:
- Resolve formal and informal student complaints.
- Address academic integrity issues involving students enrolled in courses offered by the School.
- Support student clubs and projects for an engaging student experience.
Community Engagement and Representation:
- Serve and represent the School in internal and external committees.
- Collaborate with other deans and administrators to advance the school's and college's mission and strategic priorities.
Program Expansion and Recruitment:
- Assist the Dean with the expansion of the School's program offerings.
- Assist the Dean with recruitment efforts and initiatives.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Perform other duties as assigned

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED IN THE POSITION

Required:
- Bachelor's degree
- Two years (4 semesters) post-secondary teaching experience
- Two years (4,000 hours) experience in leadership and employee coaching
