Registered Nurse RN Ambulatory Bariatric - Madison Heights with occasional travel to Novi Clinic Full Time - 40 hours/week - 8am - 4:30-pm - no weekends/holidays Responsibilities Include: coordinating and facilitating quality care of the bariatric patient at three bariatric clinics and four surgeons. Patient triage, triaging calls, assessment and education of the bariatric patient both preoperatively and postoperatively and is a key support to the bariatric care team in the provision of safe and effective care for the bariatric patient. Medication holds, surgery reminder calls, pre/post calls, post op review for care and medications, pre-op labs/orders, surgical orders, prior auths. This position requires a lot of phone work. Must be personable and comfortable talking with patients and providers. This position will require pre/post op calling for both the Novi and Howell clinics with occasional travel to the Novi clinic. Candidate Preferences: Minimum of 1 year RN experience in an ambulatory/clinic or inpatient hospital setting with prior experience working either in bariatrics or med/surg. Phone Triaging experience a plus. Experience working in EPIC. GENERAL SUMMARY: Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family. Effectively communicates with the health care team. Demonstrates clinical competence. May require a professional certification which is a regulatory requirement in the State of Michigan or a documented community standard for the position, works independently and in collaboration with principal investigator when appropriate. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. Bachelor's Degree preferred. Successful completion of Henry Ford Ambulatory orientation. Maintains and demonstrates current clinical knowledge in area of specialty. Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans. Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services. Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and medical group personnel. Preferred experience in the specialty. Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse. Current BLS or ACLS per Henry Ford Health policy. Certification will be required when it is a regulatory requirement in the State of Michigan or a documented community standard, i.e., Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN). Additional Information
