Senior Data Scientist

Genesis10 is seeking a Data Scientist Sr or Lead. This is a 5-month contract to hire, hybrid position with a client located in Columbus, OH.

Compensation: $60-75/hour W2
Conversion salary $120-135k

Job Description:
As our clients advance their AI Capabilities throughout the company, they want to add several Sr and Lead Data Scientists to join the AI COE working on cutting-edge projects.

Responsibilities:

• Performs advanced analytics methods to extract value from business data.
• Performs large-scale experimentation and build data-driven models to answer business questions.
• Conducts research on cutting-edge techniques and tools in machine learning/deep learning/artificial intelligence.
• Determines requirements that will be used to train and evolve deep learning models and algorithms.
• Articulates a vision and roadmap for the exploitation of data as a valued corporate asset.
• Influences product teams through presentation of data-based recommendations.
• Evangelizes best practices to analytics and products teams.
• Owns the entire model development process, from identifying the business requirements, data sourcing, model fitting, presenting results, and production scoring.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Master's Degree or PHD in computer science, statistics, economics or related fields
• Statistics background (preferred)
• R or Python working experience (3yrs)
• SQL exp (3yrs)
• Passion around AI
• An ability to show how they have learned different AI tools from projects, self-teaching or classes
• 2-3 years exp as a Data Scientist

Preferred Qualifications

• Willingness to step outside traditional modeling tasks to solve broader technical or business challenges in support of team and organizational goals.
• Hands on experience with LLM fine tuning
• Practical understanding of advanced Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) methods such as MMR, multi vector retrieval, RAG fusion, HYDE, self RAG, and retrieval evaluation frameworks.
• Knowledge and practical experience with Agentic AI and agentic workflows, including task orchestration, multi agent collaboration, tool use agents, and workflow automation patterns.
• Hands on experience with advanced AWS AI/ML services such as Bedrock, JumpStart, Textract, and related ML orchestration capabilities.
