Medical Assistant I, Hematology Oncology

ChristianaCare is hiring a full-time Medical Assistant for the Hematology Oncology practice at the Helen F. Graham Center in Newark, DE and Wilmington, DE.

ChristianaCare's Hematology-Oncology program delivers expert, compassionate care for patients with blood disorders and cancers, including leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, and MDS. Our fellowshiptrained specialists work within a multidisciplinary team to provide advanced diagnostics, personalized treatment plans, and leadingedge therapies, including CART and stemcell transplantation. Work Schedule:

• Monday - Friday, 8a - 4:30

• No holidays required.

• Cross-coverage at Wilmington practice 2 days/week

Duties / Responsibilities:

The Medical Assistant I greets and supports patients virtually and in person, prepares them for visits, performs basic clinical tasks (e.g., testing, injections, EKGs), assists with exams, and maintains exam rooms and equipment. They manage EMR updates, patient communications, referrals, authorizations, and scheduling, while handling clerical duties, troubleshooting video visits, and supporting patient portal access.

Position Qualifications:

• High School Graduate or GED required.
• A graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program or hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
