Position Title:Internal Communications Specialist

Job Description:
General Description: This role is responsible for developing internal communication plans that support the strategic communication initiatives of the healthcare enterprise, specifically focused on People and Culture. Essential Responsibilities: Responsibilities listed in this section are core to the position. Provides internal communications planning, communication strategies, and consultative support of People and Culture topics related to OU Health's enterprise-wide operating units, service lines, and shared-service departments. Creates and maintains an internal communications dashboard for communication initiatives. Writes strategic internal communication plans for specific internal audiences and manages communication projects designed to meet client, department, and healthcare enterprise strategic goals. Develop and maintain regular internal communication vehicles such as internal news channels by audience, cascade communication, internal articles, infographics, and distribution lists for strategic communication. Maintains working knowledge of services and strategic goals for People and Culture domain. Adheres to Associated Press (AP), style guides, and brand standards for all communications. Demonstrates writing skills for communication development as well as written and verbal communication skills for interacting with stakeholders at all levels of the healthcare enterprise. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to reach department and healthcare enterprise goals. Provides regular updates to the Director of Marketing Communications and to team members across the department. Facilitates coordination of special events as necessary. Recommends news releases and marketing opportunities as identified with clients. Represents the department as a key communications point of contact for all day-to-day aspects of the healthcare enterprise. Provides leadership on delegated People and Culture initiatives as assigned.
General Responsibilities:
Minimum Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's Degree in strategic communications, English, journalism, or related is preferred. Experience: 3 or more years of experience in strategic communications required. Licensure/Certifications/Registrations Required: None Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must have working knowledge of Human Resources systems, including Workday or a similar Human Capital Management (HCM) system. Strong writing and editing skills for a professional audience across various mediums. Excellent organizational skills with experience dealing with multiple, high-profile projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines. Critical thinker with strong interpersonal skills. Proven success collaborating across departments and professional disciplines to achieve objectives. Experience with Microsoft Office Professional (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.). Proficient in AP Writing Style.
