Job Description




As a Security Officer - Hospital Entry Screening in Philadelphia, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As a Screener in a healthcare location, you will help manage access at key entry points by greeting staff, patients, and visitors, verifying identification and badges, and supporting visitor check-in using a computer and/or tablet. You will stay visible, monitor activity, report concerns, and provide clear, compassionate communication to help promote a welcoming environment and help to deter security-related incidents. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and/or staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities in a healthcare location.
  • Screen and/or verify visitor access in accordance with site procedures, including checking identification and directing individuals to appropriate check-in points.
  • Operate screening equipment and/or conduct manual screening as assigned, following posted instructions and escalation procedures when prohibited items or policy violations are observed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and notify site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision as required.
  • Maintain an organized screening area, manage orderly queuing, and provide clear directions to reduce congestion at entry points.
  • Complete required activity logs, incident reports, and/or screening documentation in a timely manner using approved report writing standards.
  • Support access control by monitoring designated entrances, verifying credentials, and/or issuing visitor passes when assigned by site policy.
  • Communicate professionally with clinical teams and other departments to coordinate response to disturbances, suspicious activity, and/or policy concerns.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, and/or other systems as assigned, and report irregular conditions to appropriate personnel.
  • Participate in required training and briefings, follow post orders, and comply with Allied Universal policies and site requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
