Involves testing clinical specimens for information about the health of a patient, for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. Disciplines include blood banking, chemistry, coagulation, hematology, microbiology, immunology, and processing. Be responsible for the daily operations, technical oversight, and regulatory compliance of a high-complexity testing and transfusion service within an academic medical center. Supervises employees in highly technical sub-specialty area. Directly oversees all the technical operations of the laboratory, enforcing standard operating procedures and research methods. Responsible for laboratory meeting quality assurance standards. For transfusion service, may include support advanced patient care including massive transfusion protocols, neonatal and pediatric transfusion, stem cell and solid organ transplant, oncology, and specialized procedures such as therapeutic apheresis and red cell exchange. The supervisor ensures accurate and timely testing, safe blood product modification, and appropriate utilization of blood components while maintaining compliance with CAP, AABB, FDA, and hospital regulatory standards. Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $119,400 - $230,800 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $57.18 - $110.54 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position.
