The VP, Marketing Agent Experience will lead the team responsible for delivering marketing and communications to our agent, agency, broker, consumer, member and policy audiences in support of our Agent & Agency partnerships and relationships. The VP is accountable for effective and efficient creation of a value prop and value story, outreach that supports partnership goals, thought leadership, agent brand health and support, agent growth and retention, digital adoption and engagement, and positive agent experience. This role should demonstrate a solid understanding of the Government Programs and Agent relationship and/or Insurance products with expectations to partner collaboratively across UHC enterprise teams to deliver on strategies. The role requires a leader who can guide the team to deliver quality performance through day-to-day accountabilities, quick adjustments, policy changes, content creation and relationship building while accelerating the pace of new marketing innovations, setting the stage for transformation.

You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires within 30 minutes of an office in Minnesota or Washington, D.C., you'll be required to work a minimum of four days per week in-office.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of experienced marketers to deliver impactful campaigns and content at-scale that support business goals

    • Develop, translate, and execute cohesive, consumer and business centric marketing strategies that accelerate UHC's market leading growth across the distribution model

    • Develop a vision and strategy to deliver a distinctive, best-in-class agent value prop and story, and accompanying experience that fosters agent loyalty and creates UHC brand ambassadors through the development and delivery of innovative, differentiated programs that enable agent engagement and increase satisfaction

    • Oversee omni-channel marketing and ensure the voice/needs of the audience is reflected in the work

    • Build and execute a continuous marketing and influencer strategy to maximize agent engagement, information sharing and maintain our status as carrier of choice among market peers

    • Strategize external paid media campaigns to optimize organic growth goals as well as reputation and thought leadership

    • Ensure deployment of compliant and compelling agent onboarding communications, ongoing proactive agent marketing, website content / campaigns / newsletters, and collateral /

    • Onsite presence for major industry conferences

    • Anchor to end-to-end agent experience management, developing orchestrated campaign journeys to optimize moments that matter and/or hot topics

    • Lead the marketing staff through coaching, developing and training opportunities

  • Model and ensure use of marketing best practices and tools across the team

    • Enhance sales tools and processes to support improved member retention and deliver a more seamless member experience from the time of enrollment to active plan coverage.

    • Shape and implement modern, best in class training program materials that enable agents to represent UHC products proficiently and competently in the marketplace.

    • Reimagine, create and make available agent toolkit materials and tools based on agent feedback and annual needs

    • Serve as a sponsor of Marketing Evolution work, transitioning the team to the Adobe suite of campaign tools

    • Model and encourage use of Marketing Way tools and capabilities

    • Champion a digital-first approach, leveraging behavioral science to create effective calls to action, and incorporating a multi-cultural and 3rd party business lens to all work

    • Develop and manage KPIs and reporting of results to stakeholders; use KPIs to prioritize initiatives and determine new opportunities

    • Establish measurement and reporting initiatives to inform future campaigns and communications

  • Establish relationships with key partners

    • Collaborate with Sales, Local, Agent leadership to demonstrate support of and progress against their goals

    • Develop, manage and maintain relationships with Legal, Creative, Digital, Advocacy, and more teams to align on co-developed consumer outreach strategies as well as personalized agent content and campaigns

    • Ensure optimized vendor relationships for creative, media, website and translation capabilities

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience working in a complex matrixed environment preferably within strategic marketing, member experience, and/or growth leadership

  • 7+ years people management experience

  • Proven success in the development of strategic marketing plans tied to business goals and execution of innovative integrated marketing campaigns

  • Solid ability to prioritize a broad project portfolio and meet deadlines within specified time constraints

  • End-to-end digital experience ownership and consumer journey management

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and create strategies cross-functionally (preferably with marketing technology campaign management and digital teams), while presenting to senior leadership stakeholders

  • Refined coaching and team development skills with the ability to lead a multi-faceted team

  • Proficiency in Microsoft office suite including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree, e.g., MBA, MPH, MHA/MHSA

  • Prior experience marketing to members, consumers, businesses, and/or agents via multiple channels

  • Proficient in Workfront or similar project management tool

  • Prior experience with Adobe marketing suite

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $200,400 to $343,500 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
