Job Description




As a Security Officer - Tech/Media Property Driving Patrol in Santa Clara, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. Join Allied Universal at a leading tech campus as an unarmed patrol officer in a driving post. You will conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, support access control and visitor flow, and document observations and reports using site technology. You will build strong relationships with staff and guests through clear communication, acting with integrity while supporting a caring, agile, reliable, and innovative team.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to the client by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a tech campus or office environment.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with initial scene assessment and contacting appropriate internal contacts and/or emergency services.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior spaces and exterior perimeters to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or access.
  • Monitor access points and observe for unusual activity, reporting concerns according to site procedures.
  • Perform access control functions such as checking identification, verifying visitor authorization, and directing guests to designated check-in processes.
  • Assist with screening and verifying deliveries, service providers, and contractors per site requirements, and report discrepancies.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, and building systems when assigned, and communicate issues to designated personnel using site-approved channels.
  • Document patrols, incidents, and service requests in daily activity reports and other required logs with clear, accurate, and timely entries.
  • Provide customer-focused assistance to employees and visitors, including giving directions, answering general questions, and supporting a professional workplace environment.
  • Support site emergency and continuity procedures such as evacuations, shelter-in-place actions, and medical response support, as directed by post orders.
  • Maintain a consistent presence while remaining attentive to changing conditions, and communicate observations to supervisors and/or site contacts.
  • Follow all Allied Universal policies and site post orders, participate in required training, and maintain a neat, professional appearance and conduct.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 1 year of security experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
