Job Description




As a Security Officer - Armed Government Patrol in El Paso, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal on an armed patrol post supporting a government law enforcement environment. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a highly visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents, and respond to alarms and calls for service with calm professionalism. You will document observations, communicate clearly with site leadership and local partners, and deliver customer service with integrity, teamwork, and a people-first approach.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients at a government location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site contacts and local agency partners as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, parking areas, and the perimeter, with working environments and conditions varying by assignment.
  • Control access at designated entry points by verifying identification, checking authorization, and directing visitors, employees, and contractors to appropriate areas.
  • Monitor and report suspicious activity, hazards, and policy violations, helping to deter unauthorized entry and/or criminal activity.
  • Complete detailed incident reports, daily activity logs, and patrol documentation in accordance with site requirements and Allied Universal guidelines.
  • Operate and monitor security-related systems and equipment such as radios, CCTV, alarms, and access control systems, reporting malfunctions and unusual activity.
  • Provide visible armed presence during routine operations and special events, supporting orderly movement of people and vehicles.
  • Assist with emergency situations such as medical incidents, fire alarms, and severe weather by following post orders, notifying appropriate responders, and guiding occupants to designated areas.
  • Participate in briefings, follow post orders and chain of command, and maintain required armed qualifications, licensing, and training for the assignment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be a graduate of a Law Enforcement or Military Police Training Program or equivalent.
  • Possess a college degree.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Have 2+ years of law enforcement, military, and/or corrections experience.
  • Possess a Corrections Officer License.
  • Possess a DD214 with honorable discharge OR an associates degree OR 60 college credits OR a Police Academy Certificate OR a Corrections Academy Certificate.
  • Possess a Law Enforcement Officer License.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
