Job Description




As a Security Officer - Telecom Patrol in Sioux Falls, SD, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer supporting a leading tech, media, and telecom location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will communicate clearly with site teams and visitors, document observations, and respond to concerns with calm professionalism. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout technology offices, collaboration areas, loading and receiving spaces, parking areas and the perimeter, with working environments and conditions varying by location.
  • Control access for employees, contractors, vendors and visitors by monitoring entry points, validating authorization and directing traffic according to site procedures.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras and other security-related systems when assigned, and report unusual activity per post orders.
  • Complete detailed incident reports, patrol logs and other required documentation in a timely manner.
  • Communicate with onsite contacts, Allied Universal leadership and local first responders as needed during incidents, medical situations, fire conditions and/or other emergency events.
  • Support site operations by enforcing client rules regarding prohibited items, restricted areas and after-hours access, while maintaining a courteous, service-focused approach.
  • Conduct foot and/or vehicle patrols to help to deter unauthorized entry, theft and/or property damage.
  • Provide assistance with incident scene control, including setting boundaries, directing people to alternate routes and preserving observations for reporting.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
