You will conduct routine patrols across the site, remain highly visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and respond to alarms and service calls with calm, professional communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out post orders, security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a utility location.
  • Perform armed patrol duties in accordance with local and state requirements, company policies, and site-specific post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, operational areas, parking areas, and perimeter lines to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
  • Monitor access points and verify authorization for employees, contractors, and visitors; assist with badge and/or credential checks as required by site procedures.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical situations, fire alarms, equipment-related issues, and unauthorized entry attempts.
  • Observe and report unusual conditions, security-related concerns, and potential hazards, and communicate timely updates to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
  • Operate security-related systems as assigned, which may include CCTV, intrusion alarms, gates, radios, and key control procedures.
  • Complete detailed written reports, incident documentation, and shift logs, including patrol activity, observations, and actions taken.
  • Assist with traffic control and/or vehicle screening at designated checkpoints during normal operations and heightened activity periods.
  • Support emergency response activities by following established procedures, coordinating with site personnel and/or public responders, and helping to maintain order during incidents.
  • Maintain a professional presence, follow uniform and equipment standards, and carry required duty gear in accordance with post orders.
  • Participate in required training, briefings, and drills related to utility operations, access control, and security-related procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

  • An armed guard card/license is required.
  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
