As a Security Officer - Flex Patrol Driver in Chesapeake, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. You will conduct routine patrols across buildings and yards, stay highly visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and support access control and incident reporting with clear communication and customer service. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting site leadership and/or emergency services as directed by post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of warehouse areas, parking lots, perimeter fencing, trailer yards and dock areas to help to deter unwanted activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor access points and control entry for employees, contractors and visitors, including verifying identification and/or authorization per site procedures.
  • Perform vehicle and/or driver check-in and check-out activities for delivery and pickup operations as directed, including logging arrivals, departures and assigned dock or yard locations.
  • Observe and report unusual conditions such as damaged doors, broken seals, unsecured gates, unauthorized parking and/or suspicious behavior, escalating concerns through the approved chain of command.
  • Use CCTV and/or other site systems when available to observe activity and document security-related events in accordance with site policy.
  • Complete accurate daily activity reports, incident reports and shift pass-downs, including documenting patrols, access control activity and significant events.
  • Assist with key and/or badge control processes as assigned, including issuance, recovery and documentation per site requirements.
  • Support client operations during special circumstances such as weather events, power interruptions and/or high-volume shipping periods by following post orders and coordinating with site contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
