Job Description




As a Security Officer - Outlet Patrol Driver in Seattle, WA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. Join Allied Universal at a busy retail location where you will perform unarmed patrols, remain highly visible to help discourage unwanted activity, and support store teams with strong customer service and clear communication. You will conduct routine rounds, observe and report security-related concerns, and assist with access control as needed. This is a driving post, requiring a valid driver's license, where teamwork and integrity guide every shift.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to visitors, store associates, and management by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout retail areas, storefront approaches, and perimeter walkways to help to deter unwanted activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and high-traffic areas; observe for suspicious behavior and promptly communicate concerns to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disputes, disturbances, medical situations, and/or alarms.
  • Document daily activities, incidents, and observations in written reports and shift logs; submit required notifications through established reporting channels.
  • Assist with access control as assigned, including checking credentials, guiding deliveries to designated locations, and/or managing visitor flow during peak business hours.
  • Support loss prevention efforts by maintaining visible presence, observing merchandise handling concerns, and reporting suspicious activity to appropriate contacts.
  • Interact with local law enforcement and/or emergency services when requested, providing clear information and assisting with scene management until relieved.
  • Perform customer assistance tasks as directed, such as providing directions within the location, supporting store opening and closing routines, and/or helping manage lines during busy periods.
  • Follow all site and Allied Universal policies, including professional appearance standards and radio, phone, and/or camera usage guidelines as applicable.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Client requires proof of a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
