As a Security Officer - Education Patrol Part-Time in Wellesley Hills, MA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at an education location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that can help to deter security-related incidents. You will support staff, students, and visitors with clear communication and customer service while documenting observations and activity. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to visitors, students, faculty, staff, and/or contractors by following Allied Universal post orders, site-specific policies, and established security-related procedures.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting emergency services and/or site contacts as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of galleries, offices, classrooms, common areas, exterior grounds, and perimeter points to help identify unusual activity, hazards, and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor and control access to the location by checking credentials as required, directing visitors to appropriate areas, and helping maintain orderly entry and exit.
  • Complete routine security-related inspections, including checking doors, gates, alarms, and lighting, and documenting concerns for follow-up.
  • Operate and monitor security-related systems such as CCTV, access control, and intrusion alarms when assigned, and report irregularities per procedure.
  • Document and report incidents, observations, and patrol activity in written reports and/or electronic logs with clear, factual information.
  • Provide assistance during special events, exhibit moves, and/or deliveries by supporting crowd flow, restricted-area controls, and coordination with site staff.
  • Communicate with site personnel, supervisors, and/or local responders using radios, phones, and in-person updates to support timely incident response.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
