The team

You will join Hitachi Vantara's SAP Global Services practice, a top-tier SAP partner known for delivering complex SAP S/4HANA transformations for enterprise clients. Our team works at the intersection of finance, technology, and business transformation, partnering closely with client leadership to design and deploy SAP Best Practice solutions. We operate in a high-accountability consulting environment, leveraging SAP Activate methodology, industry-specific templates, and strong change management practices to ensure successful adoption and long-term value for our clients.

The role

This is a Lead-level SAP S/4HANA FICO role requiring deep hands-on expertise and demonstrated leadership across full lifecycle implementations. The Lead SAP FICO Consultant will own the Financial Accounting and Controlling workstream, drive solution design decisions, and serve as a primary client-facing advisor.

In this role, you will lead requirements gathering sessions, define and validate accounting design in SAP S/4HANA, oversee configuration and testing activities, and guide deployment through go-live and stabilization. You will be expected to operate independently, mentor other consultants, and provide delivery leadership across distributed onshore and offshore teams. This position is ideal for a seasoned SAP FICO professional who has led complex implementations and is comfortable owning outcomes, timelines, and client relationships.

Location: U.S. Remote (Midwest, South, or East Coast preferred)

What you'll bring




  • 6-8+ years of SAP FI/CO implementation experience with hands-on SAP S/4HANA (1709 or higher)



  • Proven experience serving as a Lead, Senior Consultant, or Manager on SAP FICO projects



  • Strong configuration expertise across AP, AR, GL, Cost Center Accounting, Fixed Assets, Internal Orders, and Bank Accounting



  • Balanced FI and CO skillset with end-to-end ownership of the FICO workstream



  • Experience leading 3-4+ full lifecycle SAP FICO implementations



  • SAP Fiori experience supporting core finance and accounting processes



  • Prior consulting experience with a management or IT consulting firm



  • Experience working directly with client stakeholders and leading solution design discussions



  • Exposure to SAP ECC to S/4HANA migrations



  • Bachelor's degree required; CPA or equivalent strongly preferred



  • Willingness to support high-travel (80-85%) delivery models
